Faculty development, in-service training and continuous professional development office is one of the offices in the college of health sciences and comprehensive specialized hospital in Aksum University. The office is established in 2014 following the concept of standardization and institutionalization of in-service training in health system initiated by the Federal Ministry of Health (FMOH).
Ensuring access to high quality health services requires maintaining and updating the technical knowledge and skills of the health workforce through well organized and managed in-service training (IST), linked to continuing professional development (CPD) and re-licensure. IST provides quality training for the national and regional health professionals as per the National In-service Training Directive for the Health Sector. Besides, under the faculty development (FD) the office is engaged on supporting teaching, research, and service to the University by developing and implementing faculty events, workshops, programs, seminars, instructional technology, scholarships and other professional developments.
Mission of the office
Building capacity of health professionals’ knowledge, attitude and skills were periodically updated, enabling them to provide good quality health care services to the community through delivering need based in-service trainings to foster health and socio-economic development of the country.

To become one of the leading and standardized in-service training and continuous professional development center in Ethiopia by 2025.
